Fiona McQuade holds a Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Counselling). Prior to her specialising in couple / relationship counselling Fiona worked with adults, families, and couples who experienced various life crises and interpersonal relationship difficulties.
Her counselling approach combines sensitivity to the different issues experienced by couples with flexibility to solutions that supports the couple to recreate healthy, confident and empowering relationships. She engages with the couple to help them explore what are their concerns, what these mean to each other and what options they choose to resolve them. Fiona also fosters individuals and couples to develop care and respect-based collaborative and independent behaviours that will work for them in the future.
Fiona has lived and worked with many families in a number of Australian rural communities. She has a deep understanding of the values and behaviours that enrich and build people’s interpersonal relationships. Her other special counselling interests are supporting people of all ages who have experienced crisis grief, fertility challenges, separation and divorce, traumatic death of a family member, and well-being life-coaching.
