Patricia has written many books around verbal abuse and control and they are all very thought provoking. They are easy to read and certainly highlight what is happening helping you understand the dynamics when you are in such a situation.

What I didn’t like is how she trys to build metaphors as part of her explanation which for me detract from the message slightly.

That said, they are all excellent books, and if you you find yourself in such a situation, they are very worthwhile reading.
